I’m pleased to introduce the Marketing Society Star Awards 2017.
After the Gala Dinner in June, we undertook a full review of the Star Awards programme – from an assessment of the categories and judging process to the event management of the dinner.
The independent review is conducted by Jump Research with recommendations presented to our awards planning team and strategic partners.
I’m delighted to say that there continues to be very enthusiastic support for the Star Awards. In line with the vision of The Marketing Society in Scotland, 89% of respondents agreed that the awards play an important role in helping build a world leading marketing community.
Nonetheless, there’s always room for improvement. We would like to extend the reach and range of the awards – celebrating the marketing successes of businesses of different sizes and in different sectors. So, this year you’ll see we have made a few changes in some categories and in the judging process. For example, we have added the Tech Sector as an important and growing part of our industry.
And, especially important for growing SMEs, there’s no charge for first time entries.
We also invite all members to take part in judging – from scoring entries online to attending the panels of Business Leaders who decide the shortlists and winners.
If you can encourage your colleagues and other industry contacts to get involved too, so much the better. Your support for the Star Awards is essential in helping us build a world class marketing community for Scotland.
So, be bold. Be inspiring. Decide to take part, and you could see your future in the stars.
