Do you have a story that deserves a gold star?
I am delighted to introduce the Marketing Society Star Awards 2018 – a night for the Scottish marketing community to come together in celebration and support of one another’s success stories.
It is particularly encouraging to see that 80% of you who attended the 2017 event continue to agree that the awards help build a world leading marketing community, one of the central aims of the Society in Scotland.
The 2018 awards will see some changes. We have replaced some of the categories with four new awards, two of which are part of the Marketing Society global awards strategy; Brave Brand of the Year by nomination and Inspirational Marketing Leader of the Year, also by nomination. Thirdly we have added an Inspirational Agency Leader of the Year category for Scottish agencies.
And finally, we have introduced a Champion of Diversity & Equality Award which reflects the commitment of the Marketing Society to promote diversity and equality across all areas of potential discrimination in our industry including gender, race, LBGTI sexual orientation, disability and mental health.
As ever, the awards planning team and strategic partners have developed the awards to meet the needs of the Scottish marketing industry. These changes reflect the feedback you gave us via the independent review conducted by Jump Research.
The awards create an opportunity for marketers in Scotland to showcase their work along side industry peers and be recognised for best practise, creativity and effectiveness. And as such I’d particularly like to encourage any first time entrants to the Awards.
As you start to consider your nominations and prepare your entries, please do take the time to read through all the categories and judging criteria which aim to give guidance and parameters within which to develop submissions.
As in previous years, all members of the Society are invited to also participate in the judging process. Please look out for the email in late November to register your availability.
I’d like to thank many of you for your continued support of the Awards and hope that the 2018 event further contributes to the Society’s vision of inspiring bolder marketing leadership, continuing to recognise the collective achievements of marketing in Scotland.
“This is your chance to share the work and the result you’re most proud of.”
